The Tide is Turning

This power point presentation was created to encourage educators to use the power of pull to help students reach their maximum potential. It is a reflection on the book, The Power of Pull, How Small Moves, Smartly Made, Can Set Big Things in Motion (Hagel, Seely, & Davison, 2010).Click on the link to view: The Tide is Turning Unfortunately, none of the sounds or animations in the PowerPoint now work. If anyone knows a better way to share a PowerPoint please let me know.

  1. Jana, as usual, you captured the material and overarching message beautifully! I love the thought-provoking questions you pose. I think in order to reach our audience and jolt forth, we are going to have to pose those difficult questions that really cause us to delve deep within and face the truths. 21st century learning is no longer turning to the way we've always done it, but it is much richer, empowering, and inspiring! Integrity and perseverance come to mind first, embedded in the notion of dedicating our souls to being lifelong learners! I know it's best and I'm ready to plunge forth and lead the pack! I appreciate what you do daily as you truly make a difference...because you choose to do so!!! I love you! Jo

  3. Jana,

I love you PowerPoint, The Tide is Turning. You help me me wrap my mind around a concept that has been bothering me since the literature review. the world web gives us access to history since the world began, well almost. So, how you sift through the overabundance and produce quality research papers that are based on verifiable knowledge? As you said, learners need to become hunters and gathers!

    Great job!

  4. Jana,

I like your book list. I read Crazy Love and The Sacred Romance. At the moment, I am not reading a lot of books except required school books and the Bible but I absolutely love the wonderfully disruptive innovation where we can go to the websites of congregations and listen to their services either live or archived. This helped me survive a tough emotional loss when I was working on a master's degree program.
